About U3A
U3A stands for University of the Third Age, a movement started in France in 1973 to promote continuing learning by Third Agers (originally defined as those over the age of 50). Lecturers give talks and short courses as a community service and do not charge fees.
There are several thousand U3A groups in the world with a thousand in the UK and over 50 in the city of London alone. In Singapore there is currently only one other active U3A group. For the worldwide U3A movement, please read more here.
